King, NC - Elizabeth
Westberry Needs Heroes! |

Elizabeth Marie Westberry
from King, North Carolina, born 10/02/2002 is the daughter of George & Lisa. She has an older brother
named Christopher. She is a loving and bright child. Everyone who knows her loves her spirit and spunk...she is a precious gift.

On April 19th, 2007: Elizabeth was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma, non-amplified
n-myc. She had a very large tumor on the left side of her spine in her abdomen. It completely incased the lower aorta, wrapped around some of her ribs and had pushed her lung and heart across the midline. Scans
revealed spots on: her right tibia, right lung and severely involved bone marrow. She had over a
liter of fluid on her collapsed left lung as well.
The only symptoms she had was SEVERE abdominal pain, constipation and eventually fevers.
She has endured a treatment plan based on the N7 protocol including: 6 rounds of high dose chemo April 2007-September 2007), multiple surgeries including a major
procedure to remove about 99% of her primary tumor, g-tube placement, an Autologous stem cell transplant (10-11-07) and too many pokes and transfusions to count. The next steps in her treatment plan include radiation and cis-retnoic acid.
As of April 2008, 6 month studies (post transplant) showed that she was still
N.E.D. (Elizabeth is no longer NED).

However, Elizabeth
Westberry's cancer has recently returned with a vengeance. After nearly a year in
remission, a recent MIBG scan showed multiple spots in the original affected
areas as well as a few new ones. Needless to say this is devastating news. The
Westberry family is frantically searching for the most sensible option in
handling this new crisis and they need your immediate help.
One of the most
promising treatment options, an experimental procedure called 3F8 will require
multiple trips to NYC. This of course will necessitate many missed days of work
for George and a burden of expenses. We've reinstated the Paypal option which
links directly to the Westberry account. PLEASE DONATE! This is a tough
scenario and every little bit helps. They need you to dig deep folks!
If you prefer not to send donations online
and would rather mail a check, contact Tommy@MoodCultivation.com
for George's mailing address.

Thank you so much

Elizabeth is N.E.D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got the email from Dr. Kushner saying all scans and bone marrows are
clear. They are recomending another round of high dose chemo-repea
t scans-3F8.
We are thrilled and thankful beyond words for this news. We are not thrilled
about more high dose chemo, but...if it helps her be completely healed on Earth,
we will do it without complaint.
Our family has been at Myrtle Beach since Sunday. We will return home on Friday.
Elizabeth caught 2 sharks and a fish after fishing for a total of 20 minutes!!! She
had a Cheshire Cat grin for about 48 hours after catching them. Her days are
good ones right now....for this we are also thankful.
I will update again we get a treatment schedule laid out.
Thank you for all of the prayers, love and encouragement.
